Property owners are responsible for the trimming and removal of trees located on the terrace. The City does not trim trees, with the exception of limbs on power lines. If the tree is hazardous, a private tree service will need to the contacted or the City can remove it for the fee of $500.00.

Stump Removal:

For stumps located on private property, the City offers a stump grinding service. Contact the City Hall between the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 P.M., Monday through Thursday, 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Friday.

Yard Waste Disposal Site:

To dispose of grass clippings, leaves, ground stumps, limbs and trees ONLY, the City of Falls City provides a yard waste disposal site, located approximately two miles north on Highway 73. Open Hours are: April – October/Monday – Friday 8:00 am to 7:00 pm, Weekends are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. November – March/8:00 am to 5:00 pm everyday.

NOTE:

This is a service provided for the citizen’s of Falls City. Please keep this convenience available for everyone by doing your part to report anyone dumping trash at this site. Individuals dumping trash at this site will be prosecuted.

Barrel Burning:

The City of Falls City allows barrel burning on Mondays and Thursdays from 7:00 A.M. to 7:00 P.M. (January, February, November and December, the fires must be extinguished by 6:00 P.M.) NO BURNING ON FEDERAL HOLIDAYS. To burn responsibly, you need a fireproof trash burner or incinerator with a metal fireproof screen of not more than one inch (1″) mesh cover in place at all times while burning items at least 20 feet from any building. Be courteous to your neighbors. Do not burn on windy days and always maintain a constant watch of your fire. You cannot burn items such as disposable diapers, or any plastic or rubber based items.
