Law Enforcement
The Falls City Police Department consists of eight full-time officers who operate under the Community Oriented Policing (COP) model. A full-time criminal investigator is assigned to investigate serious cases. This group of dedicated police officers typically handle in excess of 4,000 calls for service each year. In the past five years, this department has consistently ranked with the top cities for their crime clearance rates in the State of Nebraska.
They are involved in their community and are part of the Southeast Nebraska Narcotics Task Force. This is a cooperative effort between the Richardson County Sheriff’s Department, Falls City Police Department and other law enforcement agencies in the Southeast Nebraska.
The Falls City Police Department’s communications center is the answering point for most of the county’s 911 system and in addition dispatches EMS and Fire for most of the county. The communications center has enhanced 911, computer aided dispatching, computerized records management, and a NCIC/NCIS terminal.
